We made it! Two chapters down! This was another long and compact one, so a quick recap is under a read more because a LOT went down in this chapter.

On the Redwood side:

-Milt finds out Torah was the little girl he helped escape the fire in Sage Grove, Rhonwyn was also there, but why were any of them there in the first place?

-Sidd opened his insecurities to Kierra, who reassured him that he’s still amazing. He then promptly gets fired from his job. 😀

-Sidd’s chat with Auburn was cut short by Kingfisher, but Auburn seemed to recognize Ursa’s name.

-Ursa reveals she’s found a way to artificially give someone magic (temporarily) and also that she’s normally green, Moss focuses on the latter.

-Torah and Milt had a ~heart to heart~ where Torah revealed that she thinks Ursa burned her childhood home of Sage Grove (which was an Aud settlement), and also revealed her ~murderous intent~. She then goes to tell the situation to Lulu, but probably didn’t get it all out because Milt spotted Sidd.

-Kingfisher now knows Sidd and Auburn’s names (thanks Torah), although she really only needs Auburn’s (for Ursa, she requested it in the prologue).

-Sidd falls through a roof, and he seems to feel bad about it. Auburn also falls through a roof but you don’t see anyone asking him if he’s okay :/

-Torah interrogates Kingfisher and Kingfisher agrees to show her where Ursa spends time alone. She then runs off, leaving Torah and Milt to chase after her (Lulu is presumably face-palming in the background).

Wow that was a lot, now onto the Blueridge Side:

-Lifewort, the two-faced snob, learns about the incident in Redwood from chapter one, he’s elated, as any good man would be. He seems to have it out for Marcella in particular.

-Rhonwyn reveals that they’re planning to frame Sedna for the murders of various Aud members in Blueridge, because the actual murderer (Ursa) is in Redwood (which for political reasons (spoiler: Marcella) is outside their jurisdiction).

-Lifewort blackmails Sedna into hunting Miltiades down, and she’s sent to Thyra’s office where he EXPECTS her to be enslaved.

-Instead, Thyra tries to save Sedna (and at the same time, her job) by luring her outside. She used Sabine as bait, which was a good idea and definitely not traumatic for her! This won’t have any long term consequences.

-Thyra ends up enslaving Sedna anyway, after Sedna got a little too aggressive with Auda (who deserved it tbh), she then sends her on her way, but promises to free her if she kills Ursa.
