So this page kind of breaks the “don’t make presumptions about the story” character design rule I mentioned on the previous page. I defend this because I really wanted to draw dragon Rei. He’s actually a little off-model because I didn’t want to look up decent refs. Hubris.
Von’s character thread is actually kind of heartbreaking throughout this comic. They are trying SO HARD you guys, and they end up almost crying by the end of it. We never really see them get any sense of closure and generally the comic is super mean to them (but hopefully not mean-spirited). I’m sorry Von I actually love you very much. If there’s a sequel I hope it’s you and Hammer having a heart-to-heart. Actually, if there’s a sequel it’d probably be a Hammer/Von comic, because I’m a multi-shipper and SOMEONE needs to make that content.
Hammer’s A-Choo gag is easy to overlook so I wanna point that guy out. Sign in the last panel says Goldhause!
