Oh boy that last panel sure is pretty. The whole page is pretty, but mmm, last panel. Nice. The biggest pro on this page is the camaraderie in the first few panels, if I had my way I’d just draw friends hanging out and having fun forever. Being stupid and having fun with a group friends is something I think a lot of people disregard, but it’s, it’s like AMAZING. Friendship is AMAZING.

The biggest con on this page is the distracting staging. I drew Rei on the wrong side and thought the challenge of making it work would be fun, but I think it’s inherently awkward, despite how much I like the hands I drew. 🙁 Also the concept of “touching palms” really only works if you remember that detail from the comic, which might be a tall order from people? I’m not really sure, the things I choose to retain from a read-through will be different from other people. Either way, probably shouldn’t have made it a climatic moment.

unrelated to this page: but did you guys know that Hammer swore like, twice in canon?? Wild. I had completely forgotten that there were even curse words in the comic, it’s like once Von showed up everyone was afraid to swear lest the spark of innocence fade from their eyes.

Read Vainglorious, the comic where the prettiest people are the background characters. This isn’t shade there’s like a hot guy every other scene who looks like he’s about to fight someone but he doesn’t ever do anything so it means I have to stare and be like ‘who are you handsome man’ while knowing he’s just a random hot guy and has no real story or purpose and then you realize that this is just a fictional world BUT there are hot guys in the REAL world with stories and purposes and isn’t that cool? Isn’t it neat that you can interact with nearly everyone and everything? And a lot of it doesn’t actually have consequences, you just think it does. But really hot guys are just hot guys that you can talk to and hot girls might be more intimidating but you can talk to them too and I think that’s awesome. Anyway read Vainglorious because hot people might be real but these dumbasses aren’t.
